GTESS Announces New Compliance Products: UB-04, CMS 1500 and National Provider Index (NPI) Claim Processing

New Release allows Healthcare Networks and Payers to achieve Government Compliance without Costly Operational Changes, Software Installation or Backlog Creation

July 11, 2007 (GTESS Corporation, Richardson, TX) GTESS Corporation, a healthcare claims transaction technology provider, today announced the extension of its automated claim processing platform to include the new UB-04 claim form, which is the most recent release in a series of mandated claim processing changes this year, including the CMS 1500 form and the roll-out of the new National Provider Index (NPI). Certain providers are mandated to adopt the use of the new UB-04 form, effective May of 2007.  The ability to accurately and efficiently process the new form types and support cross-walk data management and dual usage identifiers during claim form transition periods is a unique advantage GTESS delivers through its flexible, patent-pending software platform. The Company has a history of releasing new products well before federal regulations mandate compliance.

"It is critical that payers facing these continual regulatory changes have a claim processing partner that proactively adapts to changes and makes every effort to avoid business interruption, high compliance costs or serious delays," said GTESS President & CEO, Deborah M. Gage. Gage continued, "Because we operate in a SaaS (software as a service) model, we make these changes to our platform once -- without additional costs, installation headaches or delays to our clients – in a manner that is far superior to traditional software installation models or BPO services that utilize human labor on- or off-shore."  "Those vendors require lengthy business process changes and personnel re-training – creating a "yo-yo effect" of quality and availability for their clients throughout the transition, while our clients face nothing more than high-quality ‘business as usual.’"

GTESS Senior Vice President of Operations, Donna Taylor, added "We prepared for the current high volume of the UB-04 claims knowing that government programs would only accept the new form and reimbursement would push providers to begin using it in May and June. The scalability of our architecture enables us to quickly and easily add significant volume."  "We have seen a significant increase in volumes of these new forms and have been able to insure that during this transition our clients have maintained claim accuracy and their normal cycle times," said Taylor.

Taylor continued, "The best news is that GTESS customers do not pay more for the new UB-04 form processing or other such format changes –- compliance-related changes are a standard upgrade in The GTESS System™."  "The new UB-04 forms are now part of our standard form library that comprises more than 400 medical and dental forms," she said.
