In addition, as a part of our business operations, GTESS receives and transmits health information regarding individuals. GTESS is required by law to maintain the privacy of protected health information. Registration
In order to view certain information posted on this Web site, www.gtess.com, you must first complete a registration form. During registration you are asked to provide contact information (such as name and email address). GTESS uses this information to provide you with the information on its site in which you have expressed interest. GTESS will not contact you directly until you make an explicit request.

GTESS collects personally identifiable information from its users at several different points on its Web site. GTESS is the sole owner of the information collected; it will not be shared with third parties without prior notice by GTESS and your consent.

Surveys and Contests
From time-to-time GTESS may provide you with the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on its site. Service-related Announcements
GTESS will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our Web site is temporarily suspended for maintenance, GTESS might send you an email.

Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide us, GTESS will communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. GTESS will communicate with you by email or telephone, in accordance with your wishes.

Profile
GTESS stores information collected through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and third party sources to create a "profile" of your preferences. GTESS ties your personally identifiable information and your purchasing history to information in the profile in order to provide tailored promotions and marketing offers and to improve your experience with GTESS.

Only aggregated profiles are shared with third parties. GTESS will not share your personally identifiable information without your consent.

Enhancement of Profile Information
GTESS purchases marketing data from third parties and adds it to the existing user database, to better target advertising efforts and to provide pertinent offers in which GTESS thinks you would be interested. To enrich our Profiles of individual customers, GTESS ties this information to the personally identifiable information they have provided to us.

Service Providers

Log Files
As is true of most Web sites, GTESS gathers certain information automatically and stores it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

In addition, GTESS uses a third-party tracking service, Clicktracks, which uses tags to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate - i.e. usage and volume statistics.

GTESS uses these data, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movements around the site and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

In order to determine GTESS is meeting the needs of our Web site users (as well as advertising effectiveness) GTESS does link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.

Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. GTESS uses session ID cookies on this site, which expires when you close your browser. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser's "help" file.

Clear Gifs
GTESS employs a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help to better manage content on its site by showing what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. GTESS ties the information gathered by clear gifs to the site visitors' personally identifiable information.

GTESS uses clear gifs in its HTML-based emails to let it know which emails have been opened by recipients. This gauges the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please see "Choice and Opt-out."

Children
GTESS serves general users of the World Wide Web. GTESS supports and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and other laws. GTESS does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13, nor does GTESS share such information with third parties. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to register and create a profile at www.gtess.com.
